There’s a database for that

We have databases for research, all kinds of information, and just plain fun.  Learn more at a presentation by our Young Adult librarians, Thursday, March 11 from 4:00-5:00 pm in the ITTC (computer) room on the second floor.  The presentation will focus on teen interests, but is open to all.  You’ll learn about these databases:

Novelist:  Find your next book to read in this database of over 155,000 titles. Books of all genres are featured. You can also get author read-alikes, links to author websites and discussion guides.

Learning Express:  Provides practice tests and e-book study guides so you can score higher on tests like the SAT, AP subject tests, GED, GRE and TOEFL. It also includes tutorials for math, reading, writing, interview skills and job searching.

Statesman’s Yearbook Online:  Offers thorough information for 192 countries focusing on government and politics, economics, history and culture. Additional features include biographies of world leaders and a week-by-week chronology of world events since December 1999.

You can get to those databases and many here–most are available from home!  You can also ask at the Reference desk for one of our database brochures, or speak to a Reference librarian for assistance.
