Geolocation is here!

July 29, 2010

What’s geolocation?  To use the electronic resources licensed statewide, it means you no longer need to have your library card number with you to get access.  You click on the link, the computer at the other end recognizes that you’re in Massachusetts,  and voila!  Faster access to searching the Boston Globe, Herald, New York Times, and the Infotrac databases.  All these links can be bookmarked for one-click access.  Geolocation works with our newspaper databases and all of the state-licensed databases from Gale:

Please note:  If you are trying to access these databases from outside Massachusetts, you will still need to enter your library card number.
