A quote for Banned Books Week

Reprinted by permission of the American Library Association.

Celebrate Banned Books Week, September 30 – October 6!  The Boston Globe recently published an interview with the author Ken Follett:

Books: Your evangelical parents didn’t allow you to watch TV or films. Did they put restrictions on your reading?

FOLLETT: Amazingly, no. It’s crazy….My parents felt I would be irreparably damaged if I saw “Flash Gordon,” but when I was 12 they didn’t notice that I was reading James Bond books. Censorship is like that. It has no logic to it.

You can find books by Ken Follett in many different formats at the Library.
