Remote access is now available for our Reference USA database
Home Access | In Library Access

Compiled and updated from over 5,000 publicly available sources and telephone verified, Reference USA contains detailed information on 13 million U.S. businesses.  Information provided includes addresses, phone numbers, website addresses, sales, number of employees, subsidiary information, and SEC filings of publicly traded companies.

Company searches can be limited by major industry group, annual sales volume, number of employees, and other criteria. Also included is a residential telephone database for the United States and Canada. The file is updated monthly.

Home access for this database is available only to Newton residents with a Newton library card number beginning 21323.

Young Adult Event! Come hear author Emily Franklin May 22

Young adult author Emily Franklin will speak to aspiring young authors and answer questions at the Library on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m., in Druker Auditorium.  This open forum, followed by a book signing, will begin with a brief reading from her Principles of Love series.  This event is not just for fans of the series, but also for teen writers interested in the book publishing business.  Teens are encouraged to read one of Franklin’s books before the session.

The program is sponsored by Newton Girl Scout Cadet Troupe 3039 and their leader, Toni Rosenberg, and is being funded through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners with funds from LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act), a Federal source of library funding.


Shop at the Book Fair, Support the Library!

The New England Mobile Book Fair is celebrating its 50th anniversary by giving back to the Newton community.  When you shop there between May 9th and 18th, at checkout time, mention the Newton Free Library or that you live in Newton.  The Book Fair will then donate 5% of your sale (before tax) to the Newton Free Library and Newton School PTOs.  The Book Fair is located at 82-84 Needham St.
